American gender activist and lawyer Vivian Huelgo today said incidents of sexual violence have not increased, but its reporting to law enforcing agencies has increased in the USA.
"I don't think the numbers are increasing. Its only the reporting, to the authorities which has increased," Huelgo told reporters when asked on whether incidents of sexual violence have increased.
While attributing the reporting of such cases to increase awareness among the people, she said most women in the USA know who their rapist is.

"A medical examination cannot always tell you whether I was raped or not. Only I as a victim can tell you," the activist, who is the chief counsel to the Task Force on Human Trafficking and Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence of the American Bar Association, said.
Talking about sexual violence in campuses of USA, she said "I do not know anyone who is not sexually assaulted in campuses. It is a very common experience in the US. It is very rampant.
