Keeping in view the significance of Lord Jagannath's Nabakalebar festival next year, Odisha government today urged the Centre to include some products of State Tourism in the Incredible India Campaign, official sources said.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Tourism and Culture Arabinda Kumar Padhy in a letter to Girish Shankar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism Government of India, said that the Lord's Nabakalebar festival, which is being observed in a gap of 19 years, could fetch large tourist from abroad.
Padhy has sent picture of a selected Sand Art on Lord Jagannath created by Sudarshan Pattnaik along with pictures of other tourism destinations like Konark, Puri and Bhubaneswar Golden Triangle, Dhauli Budhist Shantistupa, Khandagiri and Udaygiri Caves in Bhubaneswar.
Chilika lake, Rantnagiri, Lalitgiri, Udayagiri and Langudi Budhist Circuit, Deomali of Koraput, Harishankar, Nurshinganath, Bhitarkanika Crocodile Sanctuary, Similipal National Park, Taptapani Hot water Spring, Nanadankanan Biological Park, both in hard and soft copies and requested to be include in the Incredible India Annual Calendar and Campaign, Padhy said.
