Collectors of Mumbai City and suburban district have appealed to voters to check their names on the voter list, which is the only prerequisite to exercise their franchise in polls.

All six constituencies in Mumbai will go to polls in the third and final phase on April 24.

"Inclusion of names in the electoral rolls is not possible from the last date of filing of nomination papers till the completion of the election process. The electoral list was sealed on the last date of filing of papers and no updating is possible now," said Mumbai City Collector Shaila A.

Suburban district Collector Shekhar Channe said the process of updating was on in Mumbai till March 25. "Voters should check their names on the electoral rolls through the facilities made available by the administration," he said.

Both the collectors said the administration is all prepared to hold elections in a free and fair manner.

As many as 57,266 poll officials will be on duty for the conduct of elections out of which 42,267 are in Mumbai suburbs and 14,999 in the city.
