Increase in prices of foodgrains

: Prices of thoor dal,urad dal,moong dal and gram dal increased while that of other commodities ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrain market here during the week under review.

Thoor dal opened the week at Rs 7,700, an increase of Rs 300 per quintal from Rs.7,400 and closed the week at its opening rate.

Urad dal opened the week at its closing rate of Rs 9,200 and its price ruled steady till Wednesday, when it rose by Rs 400 per quintal to finish this week at Rs 9,600.

Opening the week at Rs 7,000, moong dal was high by Rs 500 per quintal from its closing rate of Rs.6,500. The price again rose on Wednesday by Rs.400 to end the week at Rs 7,400.
 

Gram dal opened at Rs.7,000 from its closing rate of Rs 6,800, its price rising again on Wednesday by Rs 500 per quintal to close the week at Rs.7,500.

Maida (90 kg) opened the week at Rs 2,700, an increase of Rs 100, but its price fell on Wednesday by Rs 100 to close the week at last week's closing rate of Rs 2,600.

Sugar (Rs 4,250), wheat (Rs 2,700) and sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,200) prices ruled steady throughout the week.
