'Incredible India' pavilion opens at China expo

In a bid to woo Chinese tourists to India, an 'Incredible India' pavilion was today inaugurated at the 11th China International Leisure Industry Exposition in Hangzhou.

The Consulate General of India, Shanghai, along with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) have jointly organised Incredible India pavilion on the sidelines of 'The 11th China International Leisure Industry Exposition' in Hangzhou today.

The Indian Pavilion consists of participation from representative of India Tourism office (Beijing), Air India, Yoga Summit and Indian trade promotion companies.

Vice Mayor of Hangzhou Xie Shuangcheng along with Consul General Prakash Gupta jointly inaugurated the Indian Pavilion which witnessed a large turn-out of tour agents and leisure industry related participants from Hangzhou, a statement from the Consulate said.
 

During discussions with Vice Mayor Xie Shuangcheng, Consul General proposed to organise an India Week celebrations in Hangzhou in the first week of June 2017.

It was also proposed to organise a grand celebration of the 3rd International Day of Yoga in Hangzhou as well as setting up of an India China (Hangzhou) Cultural Promotion Centre.

The Indian pavilion will be on display in Hangzhou until October 24 and will host a series of Yoga related performances along with free consultations on Ayurveda, which would be provided by Indian Ayurvedic therapists, the statement said.
