Samajwadi Vypar Sabha state president Gopal Aggarwal said development along Yamuna Expressway was a priority of the state government and the thrust will be on industrialisation.

"SP government will not allow FDI in retail. However industrial development is planned along the Yamuna Expressway and other areas," he said.

"FDI in industry, banking and insurance sector was tolerable, but in retail it cannot be accepted as it will affect the petty shopkeepers and farmers," Aggarwal said.

"Instead of FDI in retail, we can think of alternate domestic plans to increase the investment. FDI in retail, though initially will bring investment into the country, it will render traders jobless. In the longer run, it will prove to be a big mistake," he said.

D D Tiwari, who was made secretary of the Sabha today, said, "I will try to resolve industrialists problem."

At Jewar, as per state government's new policy, Bhumi Sena was formed today and farmers were given training.

Fakir Chand Nagar, district president of SP said, "Landless farmers will be given land."
