Local fishermen began their indefinite strike from today demanding steps to rescue four fishermen who went missing since November 28.
The fishermen's association president N.J.Bose and another functionary S.Emiret alleged neither coast guard nor navy had taken any serious step to trace the fishermen who got stranded near Katchateevu in the Palk strait after their boat hit a rock.
Fishermen did not venture into the sea as part of the stir.
Their fate was not known even after three days, they said.
