Independent member Engineer Abdul Rashid was marshalled out of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly today after he repeatedly interrupted Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's statement on the killing of a youth in Sopore.

As the Chief Minister was making the statement in the House on the killing of the youth by militants in a mosque yesterday, Rashid stood up and frequently interrupted his speech.

Ruling NC-Congress members strongly objected to Rashid's behaviour and demanded his expulsion from the House.

When repeated pleas for calm by Speaker Mubarak Gul to the member went unheeded, Rashid was marshalled out of the House on the directions of the chair.
