An FIR has been lodged against independent MLA and strongman Anant Singh and five others in a murder case two days back.

One Nikki Devi lodged an FIR against Anant Singh, Ranvir Yadav and Lalu Mukhiya and three unnamed persons for allegedly killing her husband Ramjanam Yadav on February 4 at Athmalgola Railway station that falls in Patna district, Barh Government Rail Police (GRP) SHO Suresh Ram told PTI.

In her FIR lodged yesterday she alleged that Ranvir Yadav shot dead her husband at Athmalgola station when he went to the gate of train compartment to spit tobacco.

The deceased, was travelling along with his wife Nikki Devi and brother Lalan Kumar by Patna-Ranchi Patliputra Express when the incident occurred.

Anant Singh, a criminal-turned-politician, has been named as a conspirator in the murder case of Ramjanam Yadav while Ranvir Yadav has been named the main accused in the FIR, SHO said and added that they have been booked under sections 302, 120B, 34 of IPC and section 27 of Arms Act.

Singh, an independent MLA from Mokama assembly constituency, had resigned from the ruling Janata Dal(United) and successfully contested 2015 assembly poll from jail.

The MLA, who was arrested in June last year in connection with a kidnapping-cum-murder case, is currently out on bail.

Meanwhile, Anant Singh claimed that he was innocent and had nothing to do with the murder case rather his name has been deliberately dragged into the case to settle personal score with him by his opponents.
