India B wins Manipur International polo tournament

India B (Manipur) today defeated Argentina by 7-6 goals to lift the 11th Manipur International Polo Tournament at the Mapal Kangjeibung polo ground here.

Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla presented the trophy to the winners.

Six teams including USA, England, India A representing Indian Polo Association, India B representing Manipur and first timers Argentina and Morocco participated in the event that was conducted at Mapal Kangjeibung, the oldest pologround in the world.

The last edition of the tournament was won by Australia

The polo tournament was organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association to promote Manipuri ponies to the world at the on-going 10-day long state sponsored Sangai Festival.
