"There is no serious problems between the two neighbouring countries and the relation between the two has improved," BSF Director General Subhash Joshi told reporters here.

The chief of the border guarding force, who accompanied Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to Dhaka recently, said during their visit they had discussed a number of border-related issues.

Besides the Union Home Minister signed a revised travel agreement under which both the countries would have liberalised visa regimes for people-to-people contact between the two countries, Joshi said earlier in Delhi.

The agreement also comprised the extradition treaty between the two countries to help in having access to criminals wanted by both the countries, he said.

Asked for his reaction about West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's reported comment about the force as "trigger happy" that has killed several innocent villagers in the bordering areas, Joshi said, "Who am I to react ? We do our work professionally".

"We shall look into the problems in case of specific complaints," Joshi said.

He was in the city to flag off 'Darpan', a joint project of the BSF and NGOs like Mahavir Cleft Foundation, Smile Train and Rotary Club of Calcutta Victoria for free surgeries to rectify cleft lip and cleft palate for the poverty stricken border population.
