Global energy technology major Schneider Electric may adopt alternative revenue model for at least two business verticals which would contribute about 60 per cent of its total annual global income.
"For two business verticals - partner/building management and energy - we are discussing a change in revenue model. Instead of direct sale of products, we are contemplating installing equipment and solutions on the lines of lease," US-based Schneider Electric EVP & Chief Technology Officer Prith Banerjee said.
It would be a major futuristic step for the company, he said.

Driven by Banerjee, the same is still at conceptual stage. But he was confident that the new concept of solution marketing would be win-win for both project owner and Schneider.
Banerjee, who joined Schneider four months ago after 22 years experience with universities, Accenture and ABB, is entrusted with managing 1.2 billion euro R&D spend of Schenider.
