The four-day India Carpet Expo drew around 372 buyers from all over the world and is likely to generate business worth Rs 450 crore in the coming months.
"Around 372 buyers from all over the world registered their presence during the four day fair, which shall generate an estimated business to the tune of around Rs 450 crore over the coming months.
"Carpet importers from new countries like Vietnam, Serbia, Hungary, Zimbabwe, Croatia, Jordon, Morocco, Bulgaria, Colorado, Hong-Kong, Thailand, Korea, Kenya, also visited for the first time and has thus opened new avenues for marketing for Indian hand knotted carpets in these countries," Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) Chairman Kuldeep R Wattal said.

"The participants who got 50 per cent subsidy got good business and hence, the purpose of promoting small and medium exporters was also achieved," he added.
The Expo was held here between March 27-30.
The council earlier said the expo generated a business of Rs 650 crore.
The next edition of the Expo will be held in Varanasi in October 2015 and will also showcase the training provided to the Varanasi belt under the Ministry of Textiles.
