: Cement manufacturer The India Cements Ltd has registered a 10 fold rise in its third quarter net profits ending December 31, 2016 at Rs 35.34 crore.
The Chennai-based company, led by noted industrialist N Srinivasan, has registered net profits at Rs 3.16 crore during the corresponding quarter of the previous year, India Cements said in a BSE filing.
For the nine month period ending December 31, 2016, net profits surged to Rs 141.73 crore from Rs 79.46 crore registered during the year ago period.

For the nine month period ending December 31, 2016 total income from operations rose to Rs 3,791.11 crore from Rs 3,520.93 crore during corresponding quarter of previous year.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 145 a piece, up by 1.29 per cent over previous close in the afternoon BSE.
