India and China today agreed to encourage long-term Chinese investments in the country's infrastructure sector and strengthen cooperation amongst financial sector regulatory agencies.
"India and China exchanged views on fiscal and taxation reforms," a joint statement released after the 7th India-China Financial Dialogue held here today said.
"They agreed to strengthen cooperation amongst financial sector regulatory agencies and encourage long-term Chinese investments in the Indian infrastructure sector," the statement said.

The two countries reviewed the prevailing global macro-economic situation and agreed to coordinate policy action in facing common external challenges.
Both sides underscored the need to strengthen cooperation under multilateral frameworks and fora, the statement said.
A high level Chinese delegation led by Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Yu Weiping, interacted with the Indian delegation led Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Finance Dinesh Sharma.
The India-China Financial Dialogue is a forum that enables the two countries to annually review and discuss a wide gamut of international and bilateral issues for strengthening and deepening economic and financial cooperation between the two countries, the statement said.
