India and China today agreed to step up their cooperation in science and technology, including space exploration, geo sciences and collaborate for research in earthquake sciences.
The two countries have signed an agreement space cooperation outline 2015-2020 during the current visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The theme selected for cooperation included remote sensing missions, space based meteorology, lunar and deep space exploration, piggy back launching, satellite navigation, education and training.

The MOU establishes basis for the exchanges of information concerning progress in geo sciences, investigation and management of geo hazards and mineral exploration.
The MOU also envisages encouraging mining investment and mining sidelines products, service and technology exchange between India and China.
Another MOU provides framework for collaboration for research in earthquake sciences, earthquake engineering and geosciences.
The MOU will enable exchange of information between the two countries personnel, technical knowledge, and support the improvement and development programmes in the earth sciences and services.
