India close in on victory in first Test after setting West Indies 419-run target

India reduced the West Indies to 15 for five at tea on the fourth day after setting the hosts a stiff 419-run target to win the first cricket Test, here on Sunday.

India declared their second innings at 343 for seven as Ajinkya Rahane scored 102 but Hanuma Vihari missed out on his hundred by seven runs.

Jasprit Bumrah (3/6) and Ishant Sharma (2/8) blew away the hosts top-order with their exceptional fast bowling spells.

India: 297 and 343/7 declared in 112.3 overs (A Rahane 102, H Vihari 93; R Chase 4/132, K Roach 1/29)

West Indies 1st innings: 222 and 15 for 5 in 7.3 overs (J Campbell 7; J Bumrah 3/6, I Sharma 2/8).
