Indian men struggled in all their pool games, as they were drubbed 0-43 by Hong Kong, whipped 0-42 by Thailand and lost 5-10 by UAE to round up a very dismal day.

India captain Rohaan Sethna called the team's display as "disappointing."

"We expect more of ourselves. We knew it would be hard going against Hong Kong as they are the top-ranked side in the Series but we were happy with the way we held them early on.

"We had targeted Thailand and UAE as winnable games, but we lacked composure against Thailand and they are dangerous if you take your eye off the ball against them," Sethna said.

"UAE was definitely a winnable match and we had a clean opportunity to score late in the game but we dropped the ball. From there they really did not let us get a look in and we ended up losing by a very narrow margin," he observed.

"I think our performance shows that we need to spend more time on the Series next year and to play at more sevens tournaments but we are hampered by a lack of budget. We can only pick ourselves up now for tomorrow.

"We face China who are going to be very angry after their disappointing results today but I am confident that we will learn from every match and that we will be looking to notch some wins tomorrow." MORE
