India exported herbal products like medicinal plants worth USD 350 million to around 150 countries worldwide in 2014-15, the Lok Sabha was told today.
India's exports of value added products of medicinal plants in 2014-15 was 234.15 USD million. Also, the country exported AYUSH products worth USD 116.52 million in the same period, Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Yesso Naik, said citing the information given by Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India under the Ministry of Commerce.
The Ministry has revised the central sector scheme for promotion of international cooperation on AYUSH to address the contemporary developments and emerging needs by modifying the existing components for the global market, Naik said.
