India gives Rs 18.4 mn aid to Nepal for new school

India has provided an aid of Rs 18.4 mn for construction of a new school in central Nepal.

The school building, constructed in Chitwan district under the Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme, was inaugurated by Ambassador of India to Nepal Ranjit Rae yesterday.

Rae underlined the importance of the cooperation programme as a cornerstone for bilateral partnership.

He also expressed confidence that the various projects being implemented under the programme will help the people of Nepal in their quest for peace and prosperity.

The inaugural function was attended by the representatives of District Development Committee, Chitwan, community leaders and a large number of people from the locality.
