India, Greece agree to enhance bilateral defence ties

India and Greece today decided to enhance bilateral defence ties as visiting Greek Defence Minister Panos Kammenos held talks with his Indian counterpart Manohar Parrikar here.

Kammenos, who reached India yesterday, is on a three-day visit to the country.

Both sides held discussions on various issues in the field of defence and security and agreed to deepen cooperation between their defence establishments, including in the areas of naval cooperation, training and other professional exchanges, a Defence Ministry statement said.

The two sides agreed to explore cooperation in the area of defence technology, research and development and also shared their perspectives on regional security issues.
 

The Greek Defence Minister is accompanied by an industry delegation and is scheduled to join an interactive session tomorrow with representatives from Greek and Indian industries.
