In a statement addressed to the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Mukherjee expressed confidence that the two countries' ongoing cooperation will be further strengthened and diversified for the mutual benefit of our peoples.
"I am confident that our ongoing cooperation across the full spectrum of political, economic and cultural activities will be further strengthened and diversified by us for the mutual benefit of our peoples," the statement, released by the Embassy of India in Qatar, said.
Mukherjee said India values its close and mutually beneficial relationship with the State of Qatar.
Qatar celebrates its National Day on December 18 to commemorate its unification and independence.
