BJP MP Ramesh Pokhriyal today said India's growth rate has improved under Narendra Modi-led government and the country has even left China behind on this count.

"I am of the view that China is trailing behind us on the growth rate. What is the bigger achievement than this? This feat can only be achieved by a gutsy government," Pokhriyal told reporters here.

Union Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh was also present on the occasion.

The former Uttarakhand Chief Minister also said India has beaten US, Japan and China in terms of foreign investment.

Earlier, the foreign investment had dipped. But after Modi government came to power, the country's image improved and investments started to go up, he said claiming, "Today, due to the world's faith in Modi and Indian government, the county has left behind US, Japan and China in terms of foreign investment."

"Now, the 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' slogan was echoing in the Arab world as well," he claimed.

The BJP leader said the country was achieving development in all the sectors, including education, health and farming.

Praising Modi, he said never in the past any government had worked for the welfare of farmers as the present government.

"The NDA government led by Modi has introduced crop insurance scheme and is working on doubling the income of farmers in next five years," he added.
