The first ever India-Japan tourism expo will be held here in January next year to provide a platform for better networking between travel and tourism companies from both countries.
The event will be inaugurated by the Union Minister for Tourism and will be attended by policy makers from both the countries, besides officials from private travel companies, hotels, airlines and railways, said a statement by Avenues, a private Indian firm which is organising it.
The two-day expo will take place on January 21 and 22 next year, with the backing of the Indian tourism ministry and the Japan Tourism Authority (JTA).

Early this year, Minister of Tourism Chiranjeevi and Japan's Vice Minister of Tourism Hiroshi Kajiyama had decided in a meeting to increase the exchange of tour operators and tourism-related information between both countries.
The expo is a result of this enhanced exchange, the statement said.
It will be designed bearing in mind the two new campaigns of Incredible India -- 'Find What You Seek' and 'Go Beyond' -- for foreign tourists visiting India, it said.
Leading private firms and representatives from various hotels and restaurants of both the countries are expected to participate in the expo.
