India men beat France 1-0 in first practice match

The Indian men's hockey team today notched up a 1-0 win over France in their first practice match, ahead of the Fintro FIH World League Semi-Finals which will get underway from June 20.

Rupinder Pal Singh (23rd minute) sounded the board for India, while France failed to score.

The match started with great vigor and speed as both the sides attacked, looking for the initial goal. They tried to capitalize on the chances in the first quarter but none of teams could score, resulting in a dry run in the session.

The second session saw India increasing the tempo of attack and finally in the 23rd minute, Rupinder Pal Singh struck through a brilliant penalty corner and opened the score to 1-0. The goal by Rupinder proved to be the sole goal for the game as India won by 1-0.
 

The Indian men team will take on hosts Belgium in their second practice match.

India will clash against France in their opening match of the tournament on June 20th.
