India and Pakistan should start exchange programmes for law students to enhance cooperation and communication between the legal fraternity of the two countries, said a law student who was part of a recent delegation to Pakistan.

"Legal systems of both the countries have similarities and there is a need for exchange programme for students and others... Laws in India for women protection is stronger than Pakistan and such things should be shared with Pakistan," said Dron Yadav, a final-year LLB student of Rajasthan University.

Yadav was part of a 27-member delegation which visited Karachi earlier this month to attend an art festival. He claimed that the legal fraternity in Pakistan also expressed similar sentiments.

Yadav said he would try to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convey his suggestions to him.
