China today voiced concern over the recent exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani troops along the International Border and called for restraint.
"As neighbouring friend of these two countries, China hopes that both parties can exercise restraint," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said at a media briefing in response to a question here today.
He said China hopes that both sides will keep the situation under control through dialogue and consultation and properly resolve difference and work jointly to safeguard peace, stability and development of South Asia.
