Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today said that the Indian contingent was performing well in the ongoing Incheon Asian Games and hoped the athletes would win more medals for the country in the days to come.
"Our contingent is performing well and we are looking forward to winning more number of medals," the minister told reporters here.
He said that the athletes were putting their best effort to win medals in the continental event.

Sonowal was speaking to reporters after meeting 90-year-old hockey legend Balbir Singh Senior at the latter's residence here.
The minister, who was in Chandigarh to attend an international youth fest, met Balbir Singh Sr and discussed Balbir's plans for reviving hockey in India.
While touching Balbir's feet, the minster presented him a life-time achiever's memento along with a shawl.
Sonowal maintained that Balbir's suggestions would help in developing Indian sports.
"It's an honour to get blessed from such an inspirational soul. Balbir Singh Sr is a gem of this country and he deserves the best. His suggestions are always welcome and his plans would be taken into consideration to revive hockey in India," he said.
