India today said it will provide 33.39 million Nepali rupees for the construction of a three-storeyed school building in western Nepal.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, District Development Committee, Dailekh and Shri Malika Higher Secondary School for providing the Indian grant assistance, according to press release issued by Embassy of India.

The school in Dailekh district, established in 1970, is running in a dilapidated condition.

The new school building will provide new classroom space, create an improved learning environment and contribute to the development of education in the district, the release said.

Besides this, work is underway on three projects at the cost of 80 million Nepali rupees in Dailekh district.

India has also gifted three ambulances to various health organisations in the district.
