Opener KL Rahul struck a fluent half-century after Ravichandran Ashwin's five-wicket haul as India reached 126/1 at stumps after bowling out West Indies for 196 in their first innings on the first day of the second cricket Test, here today.
Batting first, West Indies scored 196 in 52.3 overs with Jermaine Blackwood scoring 62 off 62 balls and Marlon Samuels chipping in with 37. Ashwin took 5/52 while Ishant Sharma (2/53) and Mohammed Shami (2/23) also were among wickets. Amit Mishra got the remaining wicket.
In reply, India reached 126/1 with Rahul batting on 75.
