India ready to provide any assistance requested by Nepal

India is ready to provide any assistance Nepal may request in view of floods and landslides creating havoc and displacing thousands of people in the Himalayan nation.

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup also termed as "entirely internal" the current political situation in Nepal.

He also expressed deep sorrow over the devastation caused by floods and landslides. Swarup said,"India stands ready to provide any assistance that may be requested by Nepal to mitigate the suffering of people."

At least 64 people have been killed and several others missing as floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains wreaked havoc in Nepal displacing thousands of people.
