India's envoy Manjeev Singh Puri today called on Nepal's new Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and held talks on strengthening and further expanding bilateral relations.
This was the first meeting between Deuba and Ambassador of India to Nepal Puri after the veteran Nepalese politician sworn in as the new prime minister of Nepal on June 7.
During the meeting at the Prime Minister's Office at Singhdurbar secretariat, matters relating to further consolidating the mutual interests and expanding bilateral cooperation mainly figured, according to sources.
Deuba also met with Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong to discuss bilateral relations and mutual cooperation, the sources added.
