The Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) has said that people will have to provide an identity proof while purchasing tickets for India-South Africa One Day International to be held here on October 18.

Patel quota stir leader Hardik Patel had reportedly said that Patels would attend the match in large number in Rajkot to raise the reservation demand.

The third ODI of the five-match series will be played at SCA stadium in Khandheri on the outskirts of the city.

Gujarat Chief Minister Ananiben Patel has given her confirmation to SCA that she will remain present for the post-match ceremony.

When contacted, SCA media manager Himanshu Shah confirmed that it has been decided by police department that spectators should provide identity proof while purchasing tickets.

One person can only buy two tickets, he said. However, Rajkot rural SP Gagandeep Gambhir could not be reached despite repeated attempts.

Selling of tickets is expected to start from October 12, a SCA official said.
