India seeks stronger partnership with UK in field of nutrition

Krishna sought stronger cooperation in these fields in a meeting with UK's Secretary of State Andrew Mitchell in London.

A statement released here by the WCD ministry said that Tirath highlighted the initiatives taken by the Government of India towards addressing the problem of malnutrition at the Global Nutrition Meet held in London on August 12.

The meet was jointly organised by UK and Brazil on the eve of the closing of the Olympics 2012, and was chaired by David Cameron, Prime Minister of UK, the statement said.

In her speech, Tirath said that nutrition is being given highest attention and priority by the Indian government which stands committed to reduce the burden of under-nutrition and for achieving full potential of children.
