India to give Rs 85 mn to Nepal to construct school buildings

India will provide a financial assistance of over Rs 85 million to Nepal for construction of two school buildings in a bid to increase the enrollment and give a conducive environment to students.

Two separate Memorandum of Understandings were signed between District Development Committee with Bhu Pu Sainik Community Academy, Bayarghari and Shree Tribhuvan Adarsha Multiple Campus, Putalibazar for construction of two school buildings, Indian embassy here said in a statement.

The Bhu Pu Sainik Community Academy was established in 2003. It is currently being run in a rented building which is inadequate to accommodate all the students.

The new building, being constructed with Indian assistance of NRs 41.92 million, will provide a much needed building to the students and teachers so that enrollment rates increase and teaching takes place in a conducive environment, it said.
 

Similarly, India has committed an assistance of Rs 44.15 million for construction of building for Shri Tribhuvan Adarsha Multiple Campus.

Established in 1980, the school is currently being operated from a rented building in Putalibazar-1, Syangja.

The new building will provide suitable classroom space and create an improved environment for learning and contribute to the development of education in the district by catering to a larger number of students.
