India earned a shot at Pakistan in the semifinals of the Asian Snooker Championship taking place in Abu Dhabi.

Spearheaded by newly crowned continental 6-Red snooker champion Pankaj Advani, India trounced United Arab Emirates 3-0 margin in the quarter finals, according to information received from team coach Derek Sippy.

Aditya Mehta, who won the bronze in the 6-Red event held prior to the team championship, put India 1-0 in front with a comprehensive 88-15 win over UAE rival Mohammed Shehab.

After Advani increased India's lead to 2-0 by vanquishing Mohammed Al Joker 67-19, the two Indians paired up to outsmart the two UAE rivals 52-21 in the doubles clash to complete the facile victory.

Thailand, Iran and Malaysia are the other three countries figuring in the bottom half of the draw in the knock out stage.
