India will promote Vietnam as a major movie-making destination by encouraging shooting in the scenic and unexplored beauty of the Southeast Asian country.
"We are looking at promoting film-making in Vietnam. That is our plan, and modalities in this regard will be chalked out soon," Secretary (East) in the Ministry of Home Affairs Anil Wadhwa told reporters here.
He said film-makers can tap the scenic and unexplored beauty of the locales of the country, which has a huge coastline running across its length in the South China Sea.

The President arrived in this historic city today after he wrapped up important bilateral meetings in national capital Hanoi yesterday.
"In order to promote tourism in Vietnam we are planning to bring some film shooting here. To promote tourism it is the best thing to show the best places in a movie. A Hindi movie can always be shot here," he said.
Wadhwa said talks are on to frame modalities for an MoU in this regard and with regard to collaboration and cooperation in the audio/video segment between the two countries.
Both the nations, during the visit of Mukherjee, have signed seven pacts including in the crucial areas of defence procurement, air connectivity and oil exploration.
The southeast Asian country is replete with some of the most historic and iconic locations in the world, tales of which have been captured and showcased in numerous Hollywood films, especially in connection with the American war.
The country has a number of war museums and other remnants which are remembered with respect in the annals of war and soldier history.
