India to take on Syria in Nehru Cup opener

Besides the hosts and Syria, Cameroon, Nepal and Maldives will be be a part of the five-team tournament.

The 12-day-long football championship will witness each team taking on the other four in the round-robin league, with top two teams moving to the final, to be played on September 2, an AIFF release stated.

Indian footballers are presently going through rigorous practice sessions at a preparatory camp at the KSFA Stadium in Bangalore and are likely to shift their base to Jaypee Greens in Greater Noida by mid-August.
