Welcoming the students of a school in Ireland, headmaster of St Xaviers Collegiate School Fr Benny Thomas has said that it would be an enriching experience for the students being in India.
India with its rich heritage, diversity, modernity and tolerance of all faiths would also be a learning experience for the 15 students Belvedre College, Dublin who are in the city on a fortnight-long exchange programme, Fr Thomas was speaking at a welcome programme yesterday.
"Over the past 19 years, this programme has been a tremendous learning experience...The exchange programme students are here for a definite purpose of social service", he said.
Teacher in charge of the project thie year Anirban Chatterjee, said true education is not limited to class room teaching.
The students participate in social service in and around the metropolis to provide service to their less fortunate brothers and sisters.
The Indian students will travel to Dublin in summer 2016.
