India will lead by inspiration and not through coercion and make the 21st century much better and the world more safer, India's envoy to Singapore said today.
Speaking at a conclave on 'New India Emerging Global Leader', Indian High Commissioner Jawed Ashraf said India would be a country that defends itself through its strength, but it will influence the world in terms of its values.
"India will be a country that leads not through coercion but by inspiration. It will be a country that will spread its idea, but not expand its territory," said Ashraf.

"A successful prosperous India fulfilling its responsibility to the world will certainly make the 21st century much better and the world safer and more stable, sustainable and prosperous," he told delegates at the conclave.
Ashraf highlighted the ongoing massive changes in India, describing ten factors that are fundamentally transforming India and providing the foundation for stable, inclusive and sustainable long-term development.
