India wins bronze in Men's Double Trap shooting Team event

Indian men's trio of Ankur Mittal, Asgar Hussain Khan and Namanveer Brar clinched the bronze medal in the Men's Double Trap shooting Team event at the Universiade here today.

With this India found itself at 29th spot among 57 countries that had won at least one medal.

Mittal, Khan and Brar finished third in the double trap team event as India added another medal to end the ninth day of the games with five medals, including one gold, one silver and three bronze.

It turned out to be a good day for the young Indian shuttlers as Shreyansh Jaisawal, Venkat Nandula and Rohit Chittaboina qualified with ease to the round of 16. Also, mixed doubles pair of H N Thandrangni and Megha Jakkampudi from Andhara made it to the round of 16.
 

In other events, women's shot-putter Manpreet Kaur made her entry in the final round which will be played on July 11th.

Meanwhile, Korea bagged only one gold today but finished at number one spot for the fourth consecutive day with a total of 73 medals, including 31 gold, 23 silver and 19 bronze.

China with 57 medals (28 gold, 16 silver 13 bronze) is at number two spot in the rankings, followed by Russia and Japan at third and forth spots respectively.
