Indian workers who are seeking to avail an ongoing amnesty scheme in the UAE will be extended financial assistance for the issue of emergency certificates, it has been announced.
Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi said that the Indian government has also exempted payment of 10 dirhams per applicant payable towards to the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF).
"As per the decision of the Government of India, the Embassy will be reimbursing the agency handling visa and immigration procedures, 40 dirhams per applicant applying for emergency certificates under the amnesty scheme towards photo, form filling, service fee, etc, which the applicant will be paying to the agency BLS International," said a statement from the embassy.
The amnesty, which runs for two months beginning December 4 is meant for violators of immigration and residency laws in the UAE. It will apply only to those who have overstayed their visit or resident visas in the UAE and not infiltrators, who would be treated like criminals.
Illegal foreigners who are under arrest in the country will also be allowed to leave the country as long as they do not have any pending cases.
