Indian and Chinese troops interact on Republic Day

The Indian Army and China's PLA held a "Border Personnel Meeting" at Kibithu sector in the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh to mark the nation's 66th Republic Day on January 26, a defence spokesman said here today.

A 26-member Chinese PLA delegation, led by Col Hu Xiao Bai, interacted with the Indian troops, led by Brig Virendra Vats.

Both countries reiterated their commitment to maintain peace and tranquillity along the Line of Actual Control.

After the interaction, a cultural programme was also presented highlighting Indian culture and heritage. The programme was performed by the troops of "Warriors of Northeast and local residents of Kibithu", the spokesman added.
