Indian archers keep Rio hopes alive

Indian men's and women's teams kept themselves in line to grab Olympic quota berths by finishing 10th and 15th in the qualification rounds at the World Archery Championship here today.

Having finished 15th and 10th respectively, the men's and women's teams need to win their first round match tomorrow to earn their quota berths for Rio 2016.

The women's team of Deepika Kumari, Laxmirani Majhi and Rimil Buriuly shot together 1907 points after 216 arrows to finish 10th as they were drawn against seventh seed Germany in their last-16 match tomorrow.

The men's team of Jayanta Talukdar, Rahul Banerjee and Mangal Singh Champia on the other hand just about managed to qualify to the knock out round by finishing 15.
 

The trio shot 1905 together after 216 arrows as they were face a tough Italy who were seeded second in their pre-quarters tomorrow.
