Indian Army DG meets Nepal Army chief

Director General of Indian Army's Assam Rifles Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan today paid a courtesy call to Nepal Army chief Gen Rajendra Chhetri during which they discussed matters relating to mutual interest and defence cooperation.

"This is a regular goodwill visit by the Indian Army official and such visits are aimed at strengthening ties between the two armies," said an official at the Nepal Army headquarters here.

They exchanged views on contemporary issues, matters relating to mutual interest and defence cooperation between the two armies, the Nepalese Army's directorate of public relations said.

Lt Gen Chauhan arrived here yesterday on a six-day visit to Nepal.
