Indian Cancer Congress 2013 begins

Medical experts from India and foreign nations comprehensively discussed various facets of cancer care during the Indian Cancer Congress 2013 which started here today.

Experts discussed about Hepatobilliary Cancers (includes those of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts and pancreas) and is more common in India than the western countries.

Experts agreed that lot more trials must be conducted to better understand the presentation and treatment options.

The conference also featured various sessions on gynae oncology, psycho, nursing, hepato biliary pancreatic session and palliative.

Sessions on distress management and role of the early intervention in overall care of cancer patients highlighted several important points.
 

Hosted by the Association of Radio Oncologists of India, the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology, the Indian Society of Medical and Paediatric Oncology, the Indian Society of Oncology, and the Oncology Forum, the Congress has partnered with over 25 professional bodies, 100 cancer institutions, and 10 international associations involved in cancer care.
