Indian challenge ends as Abhay loses in world junior squash

The Indian challenge in the WSF- World junior squash championship in Tauranga, New Zealand, ended with the defeat of Abhay Singh in the quarterfinals, today.

Singh, India's top junior and seeded in the five to eight bracket, went down 11-8, 4-11, 6-11, 6-11 to Egyptian Marwan Tarek, a press release from SRFI stated.

Tarek had earlier beaten another Indian Yash Fadte in the third round.

Singh will now play in the 5th-8th place matches.

India will take part in the girls' team event which commences on July 25.

Concurrently, a separate international boys Test series involving India, Australia, Malaysia, South Africa and New Zealand would also be held at the same venue.
