A 19-year-old Indian, who collapsed while in transit at the Sharjah International Airport has been detected with tuberculosis-positive.

The man identified as 'Sh T' was travelling from Iraq to India via Sharjah yesterday.

Airport authorities transferred him to a nearby hospital in Sharjah where he was detected with tuberculosis-positive, Gulf News reported.

A positive tuberculosis means that a person has been infected with tuberculosis bacteria. It does not mean the person has latent tuberculosis infection.

The man had been kept in quarantine for the necessary treatment. He will stay at the hospital until he recovers, the paper quoted an official source as saying.
