Indian college hosting 'Global village on the move' programme

City-based Viva College is currently hosting the India chapter of 'Global Village on the Move' (GVOTM), a mobile version of Lehigh University's highly acclaimed 'Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry Programme'.

Lehigh University is a premier private residential research university in the United States of America.

This programme, which concludes tomorrow, aims at integrating learning elements in leadership and entrepreneurial skills, business and industry knowledge, according to a release.

"Believing in the potential India holds in the future, Lehigh University is conducting a joint program in India with VIVA College in suburban Virar on "India as an emerging market," it said.
 
The participants of this program are 40 students and professionals with diverse experiences coming from 17 countries.

The programme includes business site visits to six major sectors, team project case studies involving the various industries, executive visiting speakers and panel discussions.

The industry sectors include infrastructure, retail, banking, education, hospitality and digital innovation, the release added.

As part of the programme, the participants will have to work on real company scenarios and provide solutions during the project portion of the program.

During the course, the team will interact with personalities such as , Haryana Finance Minister Abhimanyu Sindhu, Managing Director & CEO of BSE Ashish Chauhan, JMD and Creative Mentor of Balaji Telefilms Ekta Kapoor, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department Dr. Nitin Kareer and Softexcel CEO Achyut Godbole.
