Indian detained for smuggling drugs into Malaysia

The suspect, who was detained on Saturday at Penang International Airport after arriving from New Delhi, apparently concealed Ketamine drugs in a blanket and 17 songkoks, caps mostly worn by Muslim males in Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei.

Penang Customs director Zulkifli Yahya said 6.5 kgs of Ketamine drugs were seized from the suspect.

The 44-year old suspect, who was not named, has been detained for 14 days.

The case is being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
